Founder, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Srinivas Koneru is the Founder, Executive Chairman and CEO of Triterras. He has over 35 years of professional experience focused on technology and manufacturing. Prior to founding Triterras and developing the Kratos platform, he co-founded Rhodium in 2012 and serves on its board of directors. Before Rhodium, he exited Exxova Inc., an IT development and services company, where he grew revenues from zero to over US$80 million. Prior to this, Koneru was a partner and CEO of Lanco Global Systems, Inc. where he successfully turned around three underperforming IT companies. Before Lanco, Koneru worked for a large systems integrator at GE Power Systems in the United States, leading a team of over 200 consultants to provide business intelligence solutions worldwide. Koneru holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from BMS College of Engineering in Bangalore, India.
Chief Operating Officer
John Galani is the COO of Triterras. He has over 20 years’ experience in trade, trade finance and the build out of fintech platforms. Before joining Triterras, Galani was Managing Director of Delta Trading where he overhauled its exploration and mining concessions in West Africa. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of Centurion European Capital where he built and managed a portfolio of distressed assets in real estate and transportation. Before Centurion, he was a Managing Director at Phoenix Vision Management between 2002 and 2006 where he oversaw the building and disposal of a portfolio of 11 vessels. In 2000, Galani joined a start-up working on a digital B2B shipping platform and raised 85% of its Series A funding. He holds a master’s degree in Shipping, Trade and Finance from the Cass Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Finance from Brunel University.
Director and Chief Financial Officer
Alvin Tan is a director and CFO of Triterras. He has over 20 years of experience as Group CFO and Finance Controller in several leading commodity trading firms. He spent 15 years at Cargill, working in Cargill Trade & Structured Finance Pte Ltd and Cargill Asia Pacific Treasury Ltd. Prior to joining Triterras, Tan worked at Golden Agri Resources and Musim Mas Holdings. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a degree in Accounting and Finance from Curtin University of Technology.
James H. Groh, Sr.
Executive Vice President
James H. Groh, Sr. is the Executive Vice President of Triterras. He has extensive experience in the financial and technology industry as an operating executive with both publicly traded and private companies, as well as advisory and investment banking experience to companies seeking a listing in the US capital markets. He also has consulting experience as a workout/turnaround executive. Groh was Executive Vice President of International Imaging Materials (IIMAK) during their IPO listing on Nasdaq. Groh has also assisted over 20 companies in achieving their public listing goals in the U.S. as an advisor or investment banker. He previously held FINRA Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses. His experience in mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning resulted in his co-authorship of “The Road of Capital,” published in 2014. He has served on the board of directors of International Imaging Materials Inc., Artpark and the Canisius College Center for Entrepreneurship. Groh holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Senior Vice President of Technology
Ashish Srivastava is the Senior Vice President of Technology of Triterras. He is a certified blockchain expert who has over 15 years of experience in technology and innovation. Srivastava began his career in the B2B industry as a business consultant, managing several software application projects in enterprise software application development, RFID technologies, fintech solutions and mobile application development. Srivastava holds an MBA from the International Institute of Information Technology in Pune and a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
European Head, Funds Origination & Structuring
Ms. Bouriss joined Triterras in March 2021 from Demica, a working capital solutions platform, and is responsible for leading the Funds Origination and Structuring Portfolio within the company. She is based in London, and reports to Chief Operating Officer John Galani.
Ms. Bouriss brings more than 16 years of trading and investment experience to Triterras. During her 5 years with Demica, she managed the company’s investment vehicle from inception, and was responsible for structuring and managing Investment Grade, High Yield and Emerging Market strategies on behalf of clients in the UK, Europe, Asia and the US. Prior to this, Ms. Bouriss worked as a trader at Deutsche Bank and Cheyne Capital responsible for global credit mandates.
She holds a Master of Finance degree from SKEMA Business School, and she also completed doctoral coursework in applied mathematics from Ecole Polytechnique.
Business Development, North America
Mr. Karos joined Triterras in February 2021 as a consultant and is responsible for originating supplier and lending relationships in North America. He is based in Toronto and reports to Chief Operating Officer John Galani.
Mr. Karos brings to Triterras more than 25 years of experience in financial markets as well as maritime and commodity trading industries. Since 2013, he has served as a special advisor to Bluewater Acquisition Corp (TSXV: BAQ.P), a Capital Pool Company that identifies, evaluates, and invests in assets or businesses in the maritime/shipping sector. Mr. Karos also serves as an independent consultant and investor for several assignments with private equity funds, hedge funds, and boutique investment banks.
From 2006 to 2013, he served at hedge fund Polar Asset Management Partners in Toronto for the U.S. Equity Long/Short team where he was responsible for the trading activities of the fund, investments in shipping, and other analytical and trading activities. From 1997 to 2005, Mr. Karos managed the trading desk at Arbor Capital Management LLC, a small cap growth equity pension manager, in Minneapolis. He began his career in 1995 at Investment Advisers, Inc. in Minneapolis as an analyst for the Small Cap Growth Fund.
